Break Down: The circles represent paper usage, not based on angles, but relative position to the formed edge. The darker the color, the deeper the layer. Highlighted edges represent inverse folds. Negative space represents the collapsed form.
The theory behind the infinityBase^ is centered in the belief that in order to fold 3d structures, 3d geometry has to be used (rather than the standard 2d in traditional origami work). The models are folded directly into the 3d form bypassing the pre-collapsed geometry which causes paper loss as established by the predesigned representative equation.
